Our story

Our Founding

Lake Sammamish Yacht Club was founded in 2004 by Will Jensen and Ed Bondy, who set out to build a yacht club for boaters on Lake Sammamish under one charter and burgee. What started with a small founding group has grown steadily since, always carrying full reciprocal standing at clubs throughout the region.

Who We Are

The club exists for one reason: to give Lake Sammamish boaters a proper yacht club of their own. Membership carries real standing, reciprocal privileges at clubs across the region, a burgee worth flying, and a community that takes the lake seriously.

Built on the Corinthian spirit.
The old sailing tradition of generosity, sportsmanship, and goodwill among boaters, regardless of what they happen to be sailing.

The Lake

Lake Sammamish

Lake Sammamish sits in the foothills of the Cascades, a short drive from Seattle and a world away from it once you are on the water. It has been home to boaters of every kind for generations, and LSYC was built to give that community a club of its own.

Leadership

LSYC is run by a small, volunteer board, all boaters themselves.
